2Co 9:8-11  “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:  (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth forever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.”

God is able! Our lives would be so much richer if we started each day with this simple acknowledgement. We may not be able; society may not be able; but, God always has the ability to work all things according to His perfect will. He is able to use us to minister in His kingdom.

He is able to make all grace abound toward us. When we speak of His grace, our thoughts seem to turn almost immediately to Him saving us from our sins. However, is grace saves (delivers) us daily. His grace is a constant in our lives.

We live by His grace. The air we breathe we have by His grace. The food on our tables and the clothes on our back are by His grace. When we come to the end of our earthly journey, these bodies go back to the dust and our spirits go back to Him by His grace. We lay down in hope of the resurrection by His grace.

God makes sure that we are always competent (have a sufficiency) for every step He places before us. He is not miserly, but assures that we are able to abound to every good work that He sets before us. Our God has not done His mighty work of grace in a corner. He has dispersed the truth and power of His salvation, both eternally and daily, to every kindred, nation, and tongue.

God gives to the laborer (see Strong’s definition for the word translated as “poor”) who works for his daily sustenance. Our God is faithful in His righteous work and never wavers. He supplies us with the seed we are called to sow and blesses us two-fold. As He minsters seed to us, we are fed from that which He gives, and He also blesses the sowing that our seed is multiplied.

We sow from His bounty and see the increase manifested in every good work. The fruit of our righteousness is increased in that the righteousness of Jesus Christ is made manifest in us. Sowing the seed that God gives us further manifests the righteousness of Jesus Christ in those who walk in His kingdom. This is not to our glory, but is the result of the simple truth that God is able.

Again, we abound to every good work. We are enriched (made wealthy in the work) by God’s grace; not just in a few things, but in everything He has called us to do. We are able to give as He has prospered us with earnest generosity. He works through us that others might give Him thanks.

May we always show with great abundance that God alone is able!
